R&A has collaborated with AngloGold Ashanti for more than 20 years and the recent publication of the 2022 suite of reports reflects a growing and ever-changing working relationship.
Over the years, the reporting journey has seen many changes — it embraced the start of sustainability reporting in the early 2000s and integrated reporting from around 2011 onwards. The 2022 reports further advance the company’s reporting journey.
Strength, Focus, Commitment
The Integrated Report 2022, AngloGold Ashanti’s primary report, describes the full range of AngloGold Ashanti’s activities and performance, and resultant impacts, financial and non-financial, on people, broader society and the planet.
A particular focus of this year’s report was AngloGold Ashanti’s ESG performance and the steps taken to further integrate ESG aspects into its core business.
The 2020 Sustainability Report is structured around AngloGold Ashanti’s material issues for 2020 and presents the company’s approach to sustainability performance, showcasing efforts through accompanying leadership and case study videos. These videos provide insight into AngloGold Ashanti’s COVID-19 response, heath work, innovative safety improvements at Tropicana and the lasting legacy of AngloGold Ashanti in South Africa.
These reports illustrate how AngloGold Ashanti has taken further steps in integrating sustainability into its core business, taking various routes to ensure that the company’s legacy provides education, supports and preserves mining history and heritage and that it will enable collaboration on economic development. This integration is reflected in the design and structure of the 2020 reporting suite.
